Terms of sale and use
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These terms of sale and use (the “Terms”) govern the use of the Sweeplead software and the purchase of its paid plans. They are offered by Northark Studio Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under number 17440757, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom (the “Publisher”). Contact: [TO COMPLETE: support email address].
At a glance
This summary is for convenience only; the articles below prevail.
- Sweeplead is a Google Chrome extension that collects the business listings shown by Google Maps and exports them to an Excel or CSV file.
- The free plan has no commitment. The Pro and Agency plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions, renewed automatically and cancellable in one click.
- Payment is collected by Link, a Stripe group company, which sends the receipt, handles VAT and processes refunds.
- The listings you collect stay in your browser: the Publisher has no access to them. You are responsible for how you use them.
1. Purpose and acceptance
- These Terms apply to anyone who uses Sweeplead (the “Customer”), whether acting for the purposes of their business (“business Customer”) or not (“consumer”).
- The free plan is accepted by installing and using the extension. A paid plan is accepted by ticking, before payment, the box provided on the payment page.
- The Customer must be an adult with the capacity to enter into contracts.
- The applicable version is the one in force on the date of the order or use. Previous versions are available on request.
2. Definitions
- Extension: the Sweeplead software for the Google Chrome browser.
- Licence Service: the Publisher’s server that checks licence keys, applies the rights of each plan and supplies the country plans.
- Listing: the information about a business returned by Google Maps during a collection (name, address, phone number, website…), supplemented where applicable by what the Extension finds on the business’s website.
- Licence Key: the code that activates a paid plan in the Extension.
- Seat: a Chrome profile in which the Extension is activated with the Licence Key.
- Country Plan: a grid of search points covering a country, which lets the Extension organise a collection across that whole country.
- Link: Sold through Link, LLC, the Stripe group company that handles payment (article 5).
3. Plans
| Free | Pro | Agency | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price incl. VAT | €0 | €9.90 per month or €99 per year | €29.90 per month or €299 per year |
| Listings per month | 200 | 150,000 | 600,000 |
| Website analysis (emails, social networks…) | no | yes | yes |
| Country Plans | demo region | one by one, €15 incl. VAT per country | all included |
| Seats | 1 | 1 | 3 |
| Licence Key | no | yes | yes |
- Monthly quota. Listings are counted by the Extension, on the Customer’s computer, on the Listings returned by Google Maps, per calendar month (computer time). The count resets on the first day of each month; unused Listings are not carried over. When the quota is reached, collection stops until the next month or until the Customer moves to a higher plan.
- Country Plans. On the Pro plan, each Country Plan is bought once, country by country. The United Kingdom is sold as a single country (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), as are the United States (all states). A purchased Country Plan remains usable as long as the Customer has an active Pro or Agency subscription; if the subscription ends, it becomes available again when the Customer resubscribes with the same Licence Key. The Agency plan gives access to all Country Plans on offer.
- Free plan. It requires neither a key nor payment. The Publisher may change its content or discontinue it at any time.
- The list of countries and the features of each plan may change. The description shown at the time of an order prevails for that order.
4. Prices
- Prices are shown in euros, including taxes. The amount payable, including taxes, is shown on the payment page before it is confirmed.
- Link may offer to pay in the currency of the Customer’s country. The exchange rate, which includes a margin charged by Link, is then shown before payment; for a subscription, it is recalculated at each renewal, so the amount charged may vary. Paying in euros remains possible.
- The Publisher may change its prices. A new price applies to new orders. For an ongoing subscription, it applies only from a renewal date, after the Customer has been informed by email at least 30 days in advance; the Customer may cancel before that date (article 7).
5. Ordering and payment
- The Customer chooses a plan and a billing period in the Extension (Settings, “Plan and licence” section) or on the Sweeplead website.
- The Customer is taken to a payment page hosted by Stripe. Before paying, the Customer ticks the box by which they accept these Terms and, if they are a consumer, request immediate access (article 8).
- Payment is collected by Link (Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe group company), which acts as merchant of record: it collects the payment in its own name, sends the receipt and, where the law requires, the invoice, and calculates, collects and remits the applicable VAT or sales tax. The Customer’s bank statement shows “LINK.COM*” followed by the product name.
- By confirming payment, the Customer also accepts Link’s terms applicable to the purchase: the Sold Through Link Terms and the Purchase Terms. Those terms govern payment, invoicing and refunds granted by Link; these Terms govern the Extension, the licence and their use.
- The accepted payment methods are those offered on the payment page. Link may ask for the Customer’s name and billing address.
- The contract is formed as soon as payment is confirmed.
- Licence Key. It is shown on the thank-you page right after payment. It is not included in Link’s receipt: the Customer must copy and keep it. If it is lost, support can retrieve it from the email address used for the purchase (article 16).
6. Licence Key and Seats
- The Customer activates their plan by pasting the Licence Key into the Extension (Settings, “Plan and licence” section).
- The Licence Key is personal and confidential. The Customer must not publish it, share it outside their team or resell it. On the Agency plan, the Seats may be used by members of the Customer’s team (employees or contractors working for the Customer).
- Each plan includes a number of Seats (article 3). Beyond that, activation on a new Seat is refused. A Seat that has not contacted the Licence Service for 14 days frees its place automatically.
- The Extension checks the Licence Key with the Licence Service when its panel opens, then every 24 hours. To do so, it sends the key and a randomly generated device identifier (see the privacy policy). Without a connection, the last result remains valid for 7 days; after that, the Extension falls back to the free plan until the next successful check.
- In the event of abnormal use of the Licence Key (public sharing, attempts to bypass limits), the Publisher may suspend it after asking the Customer for an explanation by email. In case of fraud, suspension may be immediate.
7. Term, renewal and cancellation
- The subscription is monthly or yearly. It starts on payment and renews automatically, for the same period, at the end of each period, at the price then in force (article 4), until the Customer cancels it. Each renewal is paid with the saved payment method.
- One-click cancellation. The Customer may cancel at any time, free of charge, from the Extension (Settings, “Plan and licence” section, “Manage my subscription” button, which opens Stripe’s customer portal) or from their account on link.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period: the Customer keeps their plan until that date, then the Extension falls back to the free plan. The current period is not refunded, subject to article 8 and Link’s refund policy.
- Changing plan or billing period. This is done in the customer portal. The effective date and any amount due are shown before confirmation.
- Failed payment. If a renewal payment fails, Link retries for a few days; the plan is maintained during that time. If all attempts fail, the subscription ends and the Extension falls back to the free plan.
- After the subscription ends. The Licence Key remains on record: purchased Country Plans are kept and become usable again if the Customer resubscribes. The Listings stay on the Customer’s computer (article 12).
- Termination by the Publisher. In the event of a serious breach of article 11, the Publisher may end the subscription after a formal notice by email that remains unremedied for 8 days, or immediately in case of fraud.
- Discontinuation of the product. If the Publisher stops offering Sweeplead, it will inform subscribers at least 30 days in advance and refund the unused part of the periods already paid.
8. Right of withdrawal
- Who it applies to. A consumer residing in the European Union or the United Kingdom generally has 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving any reason. Business Customers do not have this right.
- Pro or Agency subscription. The period starts when the contract is formed. By ticking the box on the payment page, the consumer requests that access starts immediately, before the end of that period. If they then withdraw within the 14 days, they are refunded, minus an amount proportionate to the access already provided up to their withdrawal.
- Country Plan. A Country Plan is digital content supplied as soon as payment is made. By ticking the box on the payment page, the consumer requests this immediate supply and acknowledges losing their right of withdrawal once the Country Plan is made available to them.
- How to withdraw. The consumer informs the Publisher of their decision, before the period expires, by a clear statement sent to [TO COMPLETE: support email address], or through Link support (https://support.link.com/topics/sold-through-link). They may use the withdrawal form below, but are not obliged to.
- Refund. It is made by Link, using the payment method used for the purchase, no later than 14 days after the withdrawal decision is received, at no cost to the consumer.
- Refunds granted by Link. Independently of the law, Link may grant a refund under its own policy (https://support.link.com/questions/requesting-a-refund-for-a-sold-through-link-payment), in particular within 60 days for an unauthorised payment or a product not as described. A refunded Country Plan is removed from the licence.
9. Statutory guarantees
- Consumers benefit from the statutory guarantees of their country of residence. In the United Kingdom, they have the rights provided by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. In France, they benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (articles L224-25-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code): for continuous supply such as a subscription, the Publisher is liable for any lack of conformity that appears during the whole supply period. The consumer may obtain that it is brought into conformity or, failing that, a price reduction or termination of the contract.
- Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
- The guarantor of conformity is the Publisher, Northark Studio Ltd, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, reachable at [TO COMPLETE: support email address] and on [TO COMPLETE: telephone number].
- [TO COMPLETE: for consumers in France, the standard notices of articles D211-4 (subscriptions) and D211-3 (Country Plan) of the French Consumer Code.]
10. Operation and third-party services
- The Extension reads the information that Google Maps displays in the Customer’s browser. At the Customer’s request, it also visits the businesses’ websites and, if the Customer enables it, their Facebook pages. These services belong to third parties (Google, Meta, website owners), who may at any time change them, or restrict or block automated access.
- Sweeplead is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Google or Meta.
- The Publisher uses its best efforts to adapt the Extension to changes in these services. It does not guarantee that collection will work at all times, nor that the information collected, which comes from third parties, is complete or accurate. The Extension checks that an email’s domain receives mail; it does not check that the mailbox exists.
- The Licence Service may be temporarily unavailable, in particular for maintenance. The Extension then keeps working for 7 days with the last check result (article 6).
- The Publisher releases updates to the Extension. Some may be required to keep using it.
11. Permitted use and Customer responsibilities
The Customer uses Sweeplead under their sole responsibility. In particular, the Customer undertakes to:
- Comply with the terms of use of the services they access with the Extension. Google Maps’ terms strictly limit the extraction and bulk download of their content. Facebook’s terms prohibit automated collection without prior written permission; this is why Facebook page analysis is disabled by default and requires confirmation. The Customer checks that their use complies with those terms and bears the consequences, for example the restriction or blocking of their access by those services.
- Comply with data protection law (GDPR, UK GDPR and national laws) for the data they collect. The Customer is the sole controller of that data: they inform the people concerned, respect their objections and limit how long data is kept. The Extension’s tools (retention of 36 months by default, exclusion list, personal mailbox filter) help, but do not replace the Customer’s own obligations.
- Comply with direct marketing rules, in particular obtaining the prior consent of individuals (in the United Kingdom, including sole traders) before sending marketing emails, and respecting the right of businesses to object.
- Not use Sweeplead for unlawful purposes: sending unsolicited messages in breach of the law, harassment, fraud, or reselling personal data files in breach of the law.
- Not circumvent the licence: not share or resell the Licence Key, not bypass the Extension’s limits or protections, not decompile it except where the law allows, and not make abusive requests to the Licence Service.
A business Customer shall indemnify the Publisher against any third-party claim arising from use contrary to this article.
12. Data collected by the Customer
- Listings, projects and settings are stored only in the Customer’s browser. They are never sent to the Publisher, which has no access to them and cannot recover them.
- The Customer is responsible for their backups and exports (“Data” tab of the Extension). Uninstalling the Extension or clearing Chrome’s data deletes them.
- By default, the Extension deletes a Listing 36 months after it was first collected; the Customer can change this setting.
- The data the Publisher processes about the Customer is described in the privacy policy.
13. Intellectual property and licence to use
- The Extension, the Country Plans, the Licence Service, the website and their content belong to the Publisher or its licensors.
- The Publisher grants the Customer a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Extension, for the duration of free use or of the subscription, within the limits of their plan, for their own needs or, on the Agency plan, those of their clients. No other right is granted.
- Country Plans are built with data from Natural Earth (public domain) and GeoNames (CC BY 4.0 licence, https://www.geonames.org).
- The Publisher claims no right in the Listings collected by the Customer and grants the Customer no right in them: any third-party rights in that information remain theirs.
14. Liability
- The Publisher is liable for the proper performance of its obligations, as provided by law.
- It is not liable for the Customer’s use of the Listings or compliance with article 11, for changes or blocking decided by third-party services, for loss of local data that was not backed up, or for events of force majeure.
- Towards business Customers only, the Publisher’s liability is limited to direct and foreseeable loss, and capped at the amount paid by the Customer in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Indirect losses (loss of profit, customers or data) are excluded.
- Towards consumers, nothing in these Terms limits the Publisher’s liability as provided by law.
- Nothing excludes the Publisher’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraud or for gross negligence.
15. Personal data
How the Publisher processes the Customer’s personal data is described in the privacy policy.
16. Support and complaints
- Support answers at [TO COMPLETE: support email address], normally within 2 working days.
- For questions about payment, receipts, refunds or subscription management, the Customer may also contact Link support: https://support.link.com/topics/sold-through-link.
- To retrieve a lost Licence Key, the Customer writes to support from the email address used for the purchase.
17. Changes to these Terms
The Publisher may change these Terms, in particular to follow the law or changes to the product. An order remains governed by the version accepted when it was placed. For an ongoing subscription, the new version applies from the next renewal, after subscribers have been informed at least 30 days in advance; a subscriber who does not accept it may cancel before that renewal (article 7).
18. Complaints and mediation
- If there is a problem, the Customer first writes to support (article 16), which replies in writing.
- Consumers may then use a consumer mediator free of charge: [TO COMPLETE: name, website and address of the consumer mediator].
19. Governing law and courts
- These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where they habitually reside. They may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
- For business Customers, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
20. Language
These Terms are written in French and English. For Customers established or residing in France, the French version prevails; for all other Customers, the English version prevails.
